Contribute to the Honor Fund
About
In 2024, friends of the Miami Nation of Indiana created the Honor Fund. The Honor Fund is based on Indigenous land tax programs across the country, which materially repair the long history of harm caused by colonization and support Indigenous efforts to sustain community and culture for generations to come.
The two most important ways to show solidarity with the Miami of Indiana are to contribute financial resources and to return Miami land.
When to contribute to the Honor Fund
The Honor Fund encourages individuals who live or work on Miami lands to make a recurring donation to the Honor Fund. The Honor Fund also encourages you to mobilize resources from within your community (For training/information on how to fundraise, see Donor Organizer Hub).
The Honor Fund encourages companies, institutions, and organizations operating on Miami lands to adopt an institutional land acknowledgment, make an annual donation to the Honor Fund, and share information with employees and/or members about the Honor Fund.
The Honor Fund encourages those organizing events on Miami lands to make a one-time donation. Guidance about how to share information with participants (both local and visiting) is available on the Honor Fund website.
