Membership and Enrollment

To be a member of the Miami Nation of Indiana, you must have a direct lineal descendant on the 1854, 1881, or 1895 rolls and be able to provide evidence of those relations. Due to our legal battles throughout the 20th century, the Miami membership rolls are comprehensive and have been thoroughly vetted and confirmed by several federal courts and agencies. Since the by-law amendments of 2008, to be a member of the Miami Nation of Indiana, you cannot be a member of another federally recognized tribe.

Between 2023 and 2025, the tribal government conducted a tribal enrollment audit to ensure that tribal records maintain the highest levels of accuracy. Complete information includes: (1) Census Roll; (2) Family Info Sheet; (3) Family Tree; (4) Verification Form; (5) Birth Certificate.

If you are a member, make sure that the enrollment office has your most up-to-date name, address, phone number, email, and family changes (births, deaths, marriages). The enrollment office will continue to contact tribal members to ensure all appropriate information is maintained.

If you are already a member of the Miami Nation of Indiana and have any questions, please feel free to reach out to the tribal complex at mnienrollment@yahoo.com.
