saakaciweeyankwi Miami Tribal Youth Summer Educational Program

saakaciweeyankwi is the annual Myaamia (Miami Nation of Indiana) language and culture summer camp for tribal youth ages 9–16, created to strengthen language revitalization, cultural identity, and community connection among the next generation of Miami leaders. Through immersive language learning, cultural teachings, tours of historical locations, and activities such as a kayak trip, campers build meaningful connections to their heritage while helping ensure that Myaamia language and traditions continue to thrive for future generations. The 2026 camp will be held at the Koinonia Environmental and Retreat Center in Pierceton, Indiana, on the same schedule as the Miami History Workshop for adults (occurring in Peru, IN), creating a unique opportunity for Miami families and community members of all ages to engage in learning, cultural preservation, and community building together. Fill out this online form to register for camp, you will then be sent further information.
